Hotel Gimmond Kyoto
I really liked this hotel. Looking at the hotel’s access map, things seemed a bit closer than they really are. Kyoto, however, is not that big and getting to and from the hotel was not a problem. The nearby subway station is a cross station for 2 of the main subway lines running through Kyoto. On the side streets, behind the hotel there are a lot of good places to eat. One thing that I really liked about this hotel is the staff. They had an excellent staff and I would definitely stay here again.

Kyoto is packed with so much history and culture that it is difficult to see and digest everything on one trip. If you do go there, stop by and visit the Sanjusangendo hall. 1001 statues of the Kannon Goddess line the hall. Each sculpture is hand carved and the whole array is impressive to say the least.
Cost is 600yen to get in.
