Map of Japan
Saturday, March 28th, 2009Having a good map is just as important as having a good dictionary. As I mentioned time and time again, learning Japanese involves learning about Japan. When you meet people, it is good to understand a little about where they are from. If you are visiting Japan if you study about the area before you go, it will make your visit that more enjoyable.
There are many good maps out there, with Google being one of the most popular and detailed maps. However, I do like the maps put out by the Japan National Tourist Organization or JNTO. They have a couple of maps that are easy to navigate and give you info on each prefecture.
JNTO MAP ONE – This map allows you to click on a region, follow a pull down menu and go to the prefecture you are looking for. Once you click on your prefecture, it will take you to a more detailed map that has information about activities, accommodations, attractions, shopping, etc.
JNTO MAP TWO- This map has a unique interface. It allows you to click on locations and pulls up a simple map.
As I come across other maps of Japan, I will list them here.
