Fukushima Radiation After Effects

Posted on April 17, 2011 by

Several times a week I call my friends in Koriyama city, Fukushima Japan.  Unlike other areas that were devastated, Fukushima has to deal with the radiation.  Of course the health concerns is something that everyone will have to deal with for years to come, but it is the lack of help that is affecting them the most.   Where is the Japan Red Cross?  Where is the support and money that is supposed to be getting to these people.   They said that if you go directly to the shelters, you will see that the calvary just ain’t coming.    My friends deliver water weekly and volunteer to help cook.  As of this post, there are a little over 130,000 people in shelters.  If the money that the Japan Red Cross isn’t transitioning to actual support, we need to get the money directly to the people who are actually there on the ground.
